ChillaVista

This day in Isla Vista was a little festival with live music, games, informational stands and art all around. There was opportunity to decorate anything from tie dying shirts to puff painting trashcans. Giant plywood boards were free to paint on and were later auctioned off as beer pong tables, I learned about Isla Vistas History through visual representations, and saw the spectacle of many hippies dancing.

This performer is William Harryman, who went to high school with me. He has started his own website and record label of sorts, performing at such events like Chillavista, and opening for headliners like Zion I at Velvet Jones in downtown Santa Barbara. Watching a live performance is art in itself, especially at a venue like a park in Isla Vista. Being at the festival felt so natural and "chill', which was a really nice experience and made me proud to be a part of this community.
